On Friday the 18th of October, Johan Pieterse arranged an outing to the beautiful Chart Farm – one of SASA members’ favourite venues for plein air painting. Although we were few in number, we had a lovely time.
It was a perfect Cape Town spring day – windless and warm, without being too hot – and the peaceful environment inspired the beginnings of some wonderful work – sorry, no pics of work to show, as none were completed. We drew our inspiration from the amazing views, as well as the close-up details and the glorious scent of roses that surrounded us was an added bonus.
It was a first time outdoor painting experience for some of us, but we share our knowledge and learn from each other all the time and come back for more the next time around.
Thank you Johan. We’re looking forward to the next plein air treat!
