Art In The Park

The first SASA Art in the Park for 2022 took place on Saturday 23 April, at our usual venue, Rondebosch Park. It was a clear, sunny day, with just a touch of a chilly wind about. As always, the atmosphere was happy and festive, with the “Ox on the Box”, Brian Oxley and his colleague, Patrick, adding to the ambience, with their up-beat music and plenty of “dad-jokes” to keep our eyes rolling!

Thanks to all those artists who donated paintings as prizes on the day, which Brian was able to hand out to some very happy punters. Thanks, as well, to The Deckle Edge, who very generously sponsored a hamper of art supplies to the value of R1000, which was won by very lucky Nicole Naidoo.

We were even joined, for a while, by the ladies from “67 Blankets for Mandela Day”, who came and shared the space with us, knitting up a storm and joining up all the squares donated to their – very worthy – cause.

So many compliments were received, from artists and public alike. It seems everyone had a wonderful day, enjoying spending time beneath the trees and perusing the beautiful works of art, or just taking time to spend with family and friends.

Thanks to all who made it such a success, including our council members, who work tirelessly behind the scenes to get our events together and running as smoothly as possible.
