109th SASA Annual Exhibition

The Sanlam Hall at Kirstenbosch was a hive of activity on Monday 19th October, where we held the opening of the SASA Annual exhibition.

The first hurdle was to find space to hang over three hundred and sixty paintings, but we did it! Thanks to our willing members who are always ready to help and to Sylvia De Villiers, you did a very good job as “Boss Lady” – the hall looked marvelous.

Artist and gallery owner, Donna McKellar, who was also one of our selection day judges, opened the exhibition with a wonderfully inspiring speech and presented the trophies and certificates to all the award winners.

There were many positive remarks from visitors who commented on the high standard of the work displayed and the positive impressions turned to sales – by the end of the evening, about thirty pieces had already been sold.

Mary did her usual great catering job, as did the “boys” at the bar, which was buzzing. The perfect weather added to the ambiance and a most enjoyable evening was had by all.
