On Friday morning 16 August, Council members and helpers gathered early at the Richard Cowie hall in Kirstenbosch to prepare for the second SASA Members exhibition for 2019.
The process ran smoothly, as usual, as members dropped off their paintings, and hanging of the works could begin. By lunchtime, the the exhibition was almost hung and already attracting a few visitors from the gardens.
The exhibition opening in the evening was well attended, and early birds had the pleasure of viewing many beautiful paintings and sculptures, and several works were swiftly snapped up by lucky art lovers.
The exhibition was opened by Jeremy Day, a senior fellow of SASA. He spoke warmly about the work of fellow artists in SASA, including those who had recently been included in the top 100 finalists of the Sanlam portrait competition.
The bar and the kitchen provided drinks and delicious eats to keep everyone happy, and the exhibition will run until 4pm Friday 6th September.
Thank you to all the helpers for their hard work.
