I’m a 78 year-old retired architect and have sketched on-and-off – mainly urban scenes and architecture – since I was a student. I decided to try my hand at painting about 10 years ago. Oils and pastels were too ‘messy’ for me, so I latched onto watercolour, which I find challenging and exasperating, but when a bit of spontaneous ‘magic’ happens, it’s infinitely satisfying. I’m mainly self-taught, but attended a week’s David Taylor workshop last year in Italy. I exhibited and sold works on the last SASA exhibition and have had works accepted for the forthcoming exhibition.
