Mel Elliot will be giving us a demo at the SASA meeting on 31 May, showing us how he creates his magnificent landscapes in oils.
On Saturday 26 May, contemporary artist, Gabriella Kaplan, will be giving a workshop using a multitude of mixed media. The workshop will be held at the Peter Clarke (formerly Frank Joubert) Art Centre. Please see the SASA newsletter for more details.

On Thursday 22 February 2018 at our monthly members’ meeting, we will hold the SASA AGM and annual drawing competition. We are looking for new council members, so come and join us and get involved.
The 2018 SASA Merit exhibition will be opened by internationally acclaimed artist, Derric Van Rensburg, on Friday 26 January at 18:00. The exhibition, held in the Richard Crowie Hall, at the Kirstenbosch botanical gardens, will run till Sunday 4 February.
On Thursday 25 January, Hayden Proud will be joining us at our first member’s meeting for 2018. Hayden, curator of the Michaelis collection at Iziko, will be sharing his vast knowledge of the history of SASA and the society’s famous artists. Not to be missed!
On Thursday 30 November, our last members’ meeting for 2017, we will be holding our end of year function at the Athenaeum. As well as the annual Eleanor Palmer competition, there will be drinks and snacks and a bit of light-hearted fun. See November SASA newsletter for details.
